To this day, masculinity continues to be a subject that is talked about but not examined much politically, ideologically and academically. In her research, Serpil Sancar tries to present a framework that explains the uniqueness behind different masculinity experiences in Turkey. By interpreting the data obtained from face-to-face interviews with men from different social segments and with different life experiences, he creates a book that has a say about the social construction of different masculinities. Masculinity: Impossible Power tries to see the routes, areas and styles in which masculine experiences and social power relations are intertwined in Turkey, and aims to explore the nature of the relations that are seen as "inevitable" and naturalize the power processes in which masculine domination is built.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Prof. Dr. Serpil Sancar works in the field of political science at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences. She has studies on political theory, political sociology, feminist theories, Turkey's gender regime, the women's movement as a political movement, and epistemology and methodology problems in social research. Sancar, one of the founders of Ankara University Women's Research Center and Women's Studies Department, has been giving lectures, conducting research and publishing at the intersection of political science and gender studies for a long time.
