Imperialism - The Highest Stage of Capitalism
'Imperialism is the monopolistic phase of capitalism. The definition of imperialism, which includes five basic features, is as follows:
1) The concentration of production and capital has reached such a high stage of development that it has created monopolies that play a decisive role in economic life;
2) bank capital is intertwined with industrial capital and a financial oligarchy has emerged on the basis of this 'financial capital';
3) apart from the export of commodities, the export of capital has acquired extraordinary importance;
4) international monopoly capitalist associations have been established that divide the world among themselves; 5) The land division of the world by the largest capitalist powers has been completed.'
'The ruling state exploits the states, colonies and dependent countries in order to enrich its own ruling class and to pay bribe-like bribes to its lower classes. Such bribery, which would make it possible to buy off the workers' leaders and the labor aristocracy and would serve to systematically separate the upper stratum of the proletariat from the lower stratum, would require economically high monopoly profits in whatever form it takes.'
