Emile ya da Eğitim Üzerine
Émile, or On Education, which Jean-Jacques Rousseau calls "my best and most important book", examines the nature of education and humanity by guiding the reader on how children should be raised so that they can live a philosophically rich and orderly life. While coming to terms with thinkers such as Locke and Plato, he also develops a critical perspective on his period. Divided into sections taking into account the physical and mental development of the child, Émile draws a road map on how to provide the benefits, values and upbringing of a young person. It explains the responsibilities and duties of parents and educators regarding the education of their children. While Rousseau praises the mind, he emphasizes that children should have experience not only through books, but also by exploring the concrete world and reality.
“Jean-Jacques Rousseau expressed in Émile what he knew about people, what he thought about their unhappiness and abilities, and his belief that hope should always be placed on the living generation.”
