Farewell Gulsari
Gülsari is the name of a breed and a famous quilt horse. With a terrible ability to empathize, the author describes, on the one hand, Gulsari's stormy life adventure from her birth to her death, and, on the other hand, the suffering of her only breeder, Tanabay. Tanabay comes to terms with his past at the head of his beloved horse, which is dying. He devoted himself to the revolution and a happy future, but the political regime caused him to spend his life in unhappiness and troubles. The society he lives in has lost all its values in the name of change. With his unique narrative style and impressiveness, Aytmatov describes the nature in which the story takes place, and eternalizes the customs and folklore of the Kyrgyz - Kazakh Turks.
