Prof. dr. Ötüken's Ömer Seyfettin Collection prepared by Nazım Hikmet Polat; It was created by adding other texts within the same framework to the relevant works, based on the books published by the author during his lifetime. Among Ömer Seyfettin's five books based on the narrative principle, Efruz Bey is the only work that can be considered a novel. Chapters in the novel Efruz Bey, II. These are texts shaped around the political and cultural life of the Constitutional Monarchy Period. In some of these texts, alienation of intellectuals is discussed, while in others, various personal weaknesses are discussed.

Drawing Efruz Bey as a charlatan type who can change frequently gave the author the opportunity to easily throw his arrows at the people he would satirize. Efruz Bey does not represent any person in any story, but our alienated intellectual, and the author, with his stories within this framework, represents II. He tried to draw the political, social and cultural landscape of the Constitutional Monarchy Period.

The last sentence of Ömer Seyfettin's explanatory note before entering the story is very meaningful: Everyone knows you as much as you do, my dear Efruz, today no one is a stranger to you; Because even if you are not "all of us", you are "a piece of us all"...
