Dublinliler
Dubliners, which was first published in 1914, consists of fifteen stories compiled by Joyce about the daily lives of middle-class people living in Dublin, at the turn of the century. The stories tell us about the course of a human life through Dublin, around the themes of birth, childhood, life, adulthood, old age and death. Many of the characters who first appeared on the literary scene in these stories will appear again in Joyce's masterpiece, Ulysses. The stories are structured around Joyce's interpretation of epiphanies, the "moments" in which the character suddenly understands himself or experiences an epiphany. These stories are the stories of Dublin, where Joyce wrote both his hatred and passion into his works, as well as the stories of those who could not leave Dublin, which was captured by the entire memory of the city.
