Omar Khayyam: Although his birth and death dates vary according to various sources, II. Sabahattin Eyüboglu (1908-1973) was the vice president of the Translation Office founded by Hasan Âli Yücel and one of the most important cultural figures of the Republic period. The translations he made, either alone or in collaboration with a group, were among the pinnacle names of world culture, from Khayyam to Montaigne, from Plato to Shakespeare.
