In this novel, Tarik Bugra deals with Turkey's transition from a single-party republic to a multi-party regime and "democracy", as in his other novels dealing with the crossroads of the Republican period, from the Anatolian countryside and the world of the people native there. However, this time, the portraits of these people, who were previously typified with their battered and suppressed sides in situations of victimization, wrapped in individual profit, gain, initiative, ambition and motives activated by the DP, are in the foreground. In this work, Tarik Bugra questions the mutual relationship of this environment with the sublime political values and aims of democracy, and tells a love story in the context of this environment and human relations by wandering through the labyrinths of the concept of love.
