Kadir Award, the important awards of the period, for his first poetry book, My Loved Dead Soldier, it was confiscated in 1986 as it was deemed objectionable. Mehmet Yaşın, who published a total of nine poetry books in thirty years, is one of the widely translated poets who are now known outside Turkey: His poems have been translated into more than 20 languages; In addition to Turkey, it was composed in England, Cyprus and the Netherlands; It was presented as a poetry-installation in France, Russia and Cyprus. Yaşın, who gradually turned from lyrical poems in which he used a simple language to a poetry blended with Mediterranean culture, attended literary conferences and poetry reading days in many countries from China to North and South America, from the Baltic countries to Italy, from Germany to Israel and Egypt. attended. The different voice that Yaşın brings to our poetry is based on hybrid literary sources; The Mediterranean blends Turkish, Greek and Levantine cultures; creating a lyricism that is dramatic, expressive and deepened with irony; to their unconventional themes and approaches; It is based on the use of Turkish in historical and geographical plural forms.
