Dogma
Doomsday is imminent. Philosophers W. and Lars, who suffer from the inability to think, go to the "United Landfills" to give lectures. During this trip, they come up with a doctrine they call Dogma in order to overcome the blockage in their lives and find a way in thought, but they become even more lost in meaninglessness. Their search for a single thought that will legitimize their existence still leads nowhere. As if this were not enough, what W. feared happens to him and he is exiled from the university where he works. Lars betrays humanity by feeding the rats that invade his home. As if confirming Nietzsche, when two men stare into the void long enough, the void stares back at them.
Lars Iyer examines complicated issues such as capitalism, religion, Dogma, cosmic chicken, the end of the world and philosophy in his uniquely simple style. This is a disaster book that does not leave out the humor.
"The most unusual and absurd duo W. and Lars we have encountered since Samuel Beckett's Vladimir and Estragon are on the stage again... Like Waiting for Godot, Dogma is about existence and Lars Iyer reflects on the nature of meaning and explains the chaos and emptiness of modern life in a funny way. "I guess despair has never been this fun."
