Alexander Rabinowitch is a US history professor who has devoted many years to studying the 1917 Soviet Revolution. The author has collected the results of his intensive study on the 1917 Soviet Revolution, which constituted one of the greatest turning points in history, in three books. This three-book series is considered by most commentators to be the most comprehensive and successful study of the 1917 Russian/Soviet Revolution. Focusing on a period of time that was shorter than two years but extremely busy and active before and after October 1917, the author manages to present rich data in a successful and fluent fiction without turning his books into a pile of documents. Of the three books that make up the series , Bolsheviks Come to Power , which focuses on the days of October 1917, was published by Yordam Kitap in 2010. Towards Revolution , which we present to Turkish readers, examines the events between the collapse of Tsardom in February 1917 and the victorious socialist revolution in October, especially the July Uprising centered in Petrograd. The working masses who tasted freedom with the collapse of the Tsarist monarchy and took the initiative in all areas of life, mass organizations such as trade unions and Soviets, political parties fighting in open political struggle, and the revolution that came close with surprising events are told with the taste of a story.
