Devlet,Sistem ve Kimlik
With the end of the Cold War period, a great dynamism emerged in international relations. Relations between states, regional balances, institutional structures, legal understandings and policy actors are changing. In such a period, although there is plenty of talk about "the increasing importance of our country in the region and the world", there is a serious lack of literature in the field of international relations in Turkey. The book you have in hand makes a significant contribution to eliminating this gap while discussing this dynamic change in the international relations order and "science". In the book, the course of the theory of international relations, starting from its roots in the pre-modern period, is analyzed with fundamental debates such as idealism - realism and traditionalism - behavioralism. At the point this course has reached today, it is shown how the pluralist structure emerging in international relations is shaking the established positivist approaches, and the necessity of a critical understanding of science is defended. One of the important emphasis of the authors is that international relations theories and policies are themselves determining factors in the regulation of international relations. In addition to the compiler Atilla Eralp, the book includes articles by Ihsan D. Dagi, E. Fuat Keyman, Necati Polat, Oktay F. Tanrisever, Faruk Yalvaç and A. Nuri Yurdusev.
