Descartes Felsefesinin İlkeleri ve Metafizik Düşünceler
In the Principles of Descartes' Philosophy, which is the first of the two texts in this book, Spinoza aims to make Descartes' thought more understandable by presenting it with the geometric method, without adding anything to the content of Descartes' thought, except for the detailed explanations he provides here and there. In the second text, Metaphysical Thoughts, he chooses to complete what he sees as a deficiency regarding the whole, in terms of content rather than method. In this respect, when the two texts are considered as a whole, it is seen that, according to Spinoza, what in Descartes' thought is worthy of being included in the knowledge of Being, to the extent that they can be shown geometrically. But on the other hand, the texts also reveal everything that remains unexplained due to the starting point and basic assumptions of this thought. For this reason, Principles of Descartes' Philosophy and Metaphysical Thoughts is not only a valuable source written on Descartes' thought, but also a work of great importance in terms of understanding Spinoza's own thought.
