Dersim Aleviliği

The reader who picks up this book will naturally think, "Was there an Alevism in Dersim that was completely different from other Alevi regions?" We are talking about an Alevism that is not completely different but has significant differences. Or there is a reality that is different from what Alevi theorists have memorized. It should be said that there was a belief and life tradition worth mentioning in the region before an Alevism that took Islam and its religious leaders as reference emerged.

This book discusses an Alevi belief that once lived in Dersim and nearby regions, and does not quite fit the religious framework claimed by Alevi theorists, and naturally criticizes an understanding that substitutes the Alevi belief for the Turkish national identity. The use of Alevism as a material in the works for the construction of the Turkish nation and the creation of a perception such as "Turkish religion" in the theoretical field are criticized.
