Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea - Modern Classics 141 Book Description The sea is the hero of this classic science fiction, one of Jules Verne's most popular works, published in 1870. A letter from his writer friend George Sand motivated him to write this novel and helped him create Captain Nemo, one of literature's most unforgettable rebels. “I hope you will take us to the depths of the ocean soon,” said George Sand in his letter, and he talked about his expectation of a journey in which the characters wander around in diving suits developed with Verne's scientific predictions and imagination. In 1866, a sea monster appeared in the world's seas and was observed by various ships. This enormous marine animal, which is held responsible for some maritime accidents and the disappearance of some ships and is described as "an object many times larger and faster than a whale", also sparks heated debates in the scientific world. The United States took action and prepared the frigate Abraham Lincoln for an expedition to go after the monster. Professor Aronnax from the Paris Natural History Museum, his faithful servant Conseil and Canadian harpooner Ned Land also join this expedition. Extraordinary adventures await them, starting when they fall into the hands of the mysterious Captain Nemo. (From the Promotional Bulletin)

Bulunmayan kitapların bulunduğu, kaliteli hizmetin adresi, ender bir kitapevi...İsminin kürtce olması da ayrıca sebeb-i tercîhim...
