Deniz İşçileri-Hasan Ali Yücel Klasikler
Victor Hugo (1802-1885): One of the greatest writers of French literature ever. He is known for his poems, plays and novels. He is the representative of the romanticism movement in France. In addition to his huge achievements in the field of literature, he also took an active role in political life, for this reason he was sentenced to exile. Although he completed his sentence, he did not return to France until the collapse of the Empire. The author dedicated his novel, Sea Workers, which was first published in 1866, to the Island of Guernsey, where he went into exile and spent 15 years after the exile decision was cancelled, and to the sea workers living there. With this work, the author brought the life struggle of all the poor sea workers, especially a sea worker from Guernsey who had to save a stranded ship alone in order to be reunited with the woman he loved, into literature with admirable and detailed descriptions, and honored their struggles with the ancient language of maritime and the sea. The third and last book of the author's trilogy, in which he deals with "religion" with The Hunchback of Notre-Dame and "society" with Les Miserables, and "Marine Workers", which deals with "nature", meets with the readers in the Hasan Âli Yücel Classics Series, with illustrations by Gustave Doré. .
