Delikanlı
Nineteen-year-old Dolgorukiy, the illegitimate child of a womanizing landowner, comes to St. The Young Man is the narrative of his conflicts with his father Versilov, whom he met in St. Petersburg. The conflicts shaped around the emotional, ideological and moral debates of father and son reveal Dolgorukiy's life story full of contradictions. Although Dostoyevsky's penultimate novel, The Young Man, is far from the philosophical and political problems of the author's other novels, it makes psychological investigations by focusing on interpersonal relationships.
"All of Dostoyevsky's great novels aside, The Young Man stands in a different place. "The author does not discuss big problems and contradictions here. This novel, created using simple, everyday situations and common human passions, is a subtle, tension-filled and breathtaking masterpiece."
