Dağ
Dağ consists of 72 poems written by Murathan Mungan between 2005 and 2007, around a selected context and related themes. Mungan's previous poetry book, Eteğimdeki Taşlar, was published three years ago, in December 2004. The cover layout of Dağ bears the signature of Hakkı Mısırlıoğlu, as in the previous poetry book. Murathan Mungan, whose books titled Paper Stone Fabric, Used Tickets, Turkish History of Growth, and Forty Rooms with Seven Doors were published in the genres of plays, cinema articles, selection-design and stories, respectively, throughout 2007, thus closes the year with a poetry book.
Let's listen to Dağ from Mungan:
"I took a short summer vacation. During this time, poetry came. It almost came on its own. It came by itself. I was caught up in the fever of the days when I wrote several poems every day in a row. I couldn't control myself. If I stopped, my hand was writing. I know from my previous experiences that poetry is entered through the door of another world." At least my relationship with poetry is like that. I suddenly put everything on hold and surrendered to poetry, its language, its magic. The name of the book was Mountain. "If you go, I can welcome you on my own mountain with these poems in the first days of the new year."
