Cennet İle Cehennemin Evliliği
English poet (1757-1827), painter and engraver. He was among the important names of the Romantic Era. He wrote and illustrated many poetry books. He relied on an understanding based on imagination, pitting religious domination on the one hand against rational domination on the other. While he was known as a philosopher-poet, he lived on the border between madness and genius and produced with the inspiration of the same border. He embraced the most shocking ideas of his age. He took a libertarian stance on many issues such as the French Revolution, women's freedom and racial equality. He reached the peak of lyricism, went deep into philosophy, and in many places integrated these two. He lived in the presence of great poets such as Dante and Milton, and it was said about him: "There is no doubt that this poor man is crazy. But there is something about his madness that attracts more attention than the sanity of Lord Byron or Walter Scott."
