Carmen, one of the masterpieces of Romantic period French literature, tells how passionate love holds people captive. After the death of its author, the opera Carmen, whose libretto was written by Meilhac and Halévy and whose music was composed by Bizet, was first performed in Paris in 1875 and has reached the audience thousands of times as an opera, ballet and theater work until today. Over time, Carmen has become one of the most read short novels (novellas) in the world.
Jose Navarro, who is attracted to Carmen, who is not attached to any man, betrays his military duty for the sake of love and gradually turns into a bandit. Don Jose's burning passion and Carmen's ruthless determination will lead to a tragic murder.
