All His Poems - Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca
The first volume of All Poems of Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca, who passed away on October 15, 2008, includes the poet's works published between 1935 and 1968. The World Drawn in the Air (1935), The Child and God (1940), Than (1943), Çakırın Epic (1945), Stone Age (1945), Three Martyrs Epic (1949) and among them Mother Earth (1950), Hungry Summer (1951). Many books, including masterpieces such as , the famous Asu (1955 / 1967) and Batı Paçı (1958), are thus brought together. The first volume ends with the quatrains of Haydi (1968).
If we were to highlight the periods, the first volume covers the first period (1935-1945) in which Dağlarca's works such as The Child and Allah, which symbolize his emergence in Turkish poetry, constitute his peak, and then his works such as The Epic of Three Martyrs and Mother Earth, in which he took his first steps towards epic and social poetry, starting with Aç Yazı. It covers the 'existential-intellectual' line that reaches a kind of peak with Asu. In this sense, this publication shows us from the very beginning how Dağlarca is a 'plural' poet looking in different directions. Another interesting aspect is the revelation of how Dağlarca gradually turned towards a purer, even experimental Turkish in the period between 1935 and 1968.
With the first volume of this collected edition, the first step has been taken to eliminate a major deficiency. It is undeniable that this publication will contribute especially to Dağlarca research.
