Where You Are - Selected Poems
Almost all of the poems in this selection prepared by Murat Alpar, one of the thirteen books published by Pia Tafdrup, one of Denmark's leading living poets, whose poems have been translated into more than thirty languages, and winner of the Northern Literature Award and the Swedish Academy Northern Literature Award, are the first to be translated into Turkish (except Thousand-born). It is translated times. According to Pia Tafdrup, who defines the poet's work as "...to generalize the subjective, to name the nameless, to say the unsaid, to find the way to where the light is buried," "Poetry is a possible meeting place."
Pia Tafdrup's poetry, which can be described as "the journey of creating one's own myth" or a kind of "self-experience", embraces themes such as journey-inner journey, confusion of emotions, love, losses, the art of poetry, and focuses on certain situations in the life cycle of nature and humans, focusing on the body in a conceptual framework. It relies on the visual and sensory power of reflective language.
Do not search in vain for the black box of poetry, there is no recorded evidence in that box; There are only counter-questions in dreams or the silence you find by groping.
"We can call Pia Tafdrup's poetry, in its entirety, a monument of poetry."
-Peter Stein Larsen (Kristeligt Dagblad Newspaper, 2014)-
"Tight imagery is the most striking aspect of Pia Tafdrup's poetry."
-Thomas Bredsdorff (Politiken Newspaper, 2010)-
"Pia Tafdrup's poems, written in a language that reflects the confidence of traditional usage, are full of warning, impressive observations that capture the sick and distorted situations in life with a sharp perspective."
-Klaus Rothstein (Weekendavisen Newspaper, 2012)-
"While Pia Tafdrup does not overstep the boundaries of form and genre, she displays the exuberant courage and human thirst for insight that few poets can display."
-Erik Skyum-Nielsen ((Information Newspaper, 2010)-
