Considered the great writer's first great novel, The Idiot is one of Dostoyevsky's works in which he deals with the theme of a person's inner problems and his stance towards society in the most naked way. Prince Miskin, the hero of The Idiot, which was completed in 1868, is epileptic, just like Dostoyevsky. He returns exhausted from Switzerland, where he went for treatment. He has distanced himself from people and withdrawn into his own inner world. It represents idleness, detachment from the outside world and good-heartedness to the point of foolishness. According to critics, Dostoevsky expressed himself in the personality of Prince Miskin. We are publishing this great novel, which has been read with admiration for more than a hundred years, with Nihal Yalaza Taluy's translation.
