Bir Ölünün Defteri
A Dead Man's Notebook is about a triple love relationship and also bears the traces of the War of '93. In terms of novel technique, the work was written with a different technique than the author's previous novels. The reader learns everything that happened through a diary. In this way, the narrator mysteriously addresses the reader and gives him a diary, leaving the reader with the story and the characters of the story alone. He made two editions in written form and was simplified and published by the author himself in 1943. While preparing the book in your hand, this edition was taken as basis, and the meanings of words that are not used today or less used are given in the footnotes.
“Halit Ziya put an end to simple and crude novel writing. Knowing that his main aim was to analyze the passions and feelings of his heroes and to show them in their environments, he created a truly Western novel in the Turkish language with an artistic style.”
