In his office to be vacated, Simon Critchley finds boxes containing the unpublished writings of a dead philosopher friend, a strange set of cards he has prepared, and each with zodiac signs on them. Only one zodiac sign is missing. Among the boxes he rummages through, he finds a brilliant text about the ancient art of remembering and astrology cards that record the turning points of various philosophers' lives and predict the dates of their deaths. One of these is about himself; He pretends not to take it too seriously, but he is extremely curious. After some time, he finds the last box, and inside it is the model of the memory theater that Giulio Camillo designed in the sixteenth century to include almost all of the knowledge of the period. Delusions begin with the model... It is a little difficult to determine the genre of this book by Critchley, whom we know with his philosophical texts. A fiction written in a literary language, sometimes an autobiography, a philosophical treatise and a historical review... that's the beauty of it.
