Babaya Mektup
Back Cover Article (From the Promotional Bulletin)
This book, considered one of the greatest confessions in the history of 20th century literature, is actually a letter from Kafka that never reached its owner. Franz Kafka met and became engaged to Prague secretary Julie Wohryzek in Schelesen, where he went to rest in 1919. While the Letter to the Father expresses the author's feelings and thoughts towards his father, who opposed this marriage decision, it also offers us clues from Kafka's life story. The work, which is adorned with details about Franz Kafka's writing and his own existence, also has a documentary quality when compared to his other works based on fictional stories. The Letter to the Father, which is based on the conflict between father and son, is actually Kafka's reproach to the concepts of strong and weak that determine bourgeois societies.
