Map of Separation Book Description
One of the countless coincidences in life. It may be considered unimportant. A woman and a man. They meet in the empty hostel of a coastal town, both lonely and waiting for summer. The man has visited the nearby islands and is working on the island book he plans to write. Islands lined up on the horizon are visible from the garden of the hostel. The girl on the lower balcony says her name at breakfast: Ada.
Ada and Uraz set off towards Nisyros, one of the Greek islands, for summer vacation. Uraz will complete his research for the book he wrote about the islands he is passionate about, and Ada will see these regions for the first time and perhaps will have the opportunity to get to know Uraz closely. The fact that it coincides with the anniversary of their meeting will add a special meaning to the journey.
However, nothing goes as planned and Ada, who cannot close her eyes to the problems that arise, soon has to make a choice and this choice will affect not only her summer holiday but her whole life. He realizes that he will.
The Map of Separation is a novel of a journey. Ertuğ Uçar sheds light on today's relationships through a young woman's reckoning with herself. By examining the seemingly unchangeable dynamics between men and women, it shows that confronting the aspects we ignore and the truths we hide from ourselves is a discovery of vital importance, as much as it poses danger.
