Ay'a Yolculuk
This novel, published in 1865, nearly a hundred years before man's first walk on the Moon, is like a prophecy rich in scientific imagination and satire regarding manned lunar travel. When the elite members of the Baltimore Gun Club are left empty-handed with the end of the American Civil War, the club's president proposes a trip to the Moon by inventing a space gun. Jules Verne, seen as the creator of a new novel genre, the scientific novel, also laid the foundations of modern science fiction. Many scientific developments, which are nothing surprising to us today, were described in detail in his works before they were even on the horizon. In his fantastic adventures, Verne not only predicted space travel, but also submarines, television and oxygen tanks that joined our lives as science progressed.
