Avda Trajedi
The Tragedy on the Hunt, which Anton Chekhov started writing when he was 24 years old and published it under the pseudonym "Antosha Chehonte", is the author's only novel. The novel, in which a murder committed in the Russian countryside in the nineteenth century is narrated by two narrators, is an innovative example of the detective genre. It was considered by critics to be a remarkable work that highlights the mature Chekhov. The novel, which features people from different social classes - counts, nobles, peasants, Gypsies and desperate bourgeois - has been translated into many languages and adapted into cinema, theater and ballet.
The novel, which was first published in Turkey in 1943 with the name Red Entarili Kız, with the translation of Adnan Tahir Tan, was translated from Russian into Turkish by Kayhan Yükseler.
