Tribe and Rebellion - Western Perception of Kurds
A century ago, when the political geography of the Middle East was being designed, a British colonial officer asked an Iranian officer: "What do you think about the Kurds?" A century later, while the political order in the Middle East was being redefined, the Westerners were again in an active position, and the stars of the Kurds, who were considered the world's "largest stateless nation", were shining brighter than ever in the eyes of the Westerners, this time we can look back and ask: So what did the Westerners think about the Kurds? Kurds have gained an important place in Western literature and politics in the last two centuries, and this points to the existence of a cultural-political vision of Kurds in Western perception for a long time. This study claims that this imagination forms a landscape of the international conflict of modern Kurdish identity and aims to create a memory of this conflict.
