Araba Sevdası is a novel that is completely different from other novel attempts we came across during the Tanzimat period and makes its author unique. Araba Sevdası, which tells a tragicomic love story during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz around an exaggerated "traditional dandy" character, is one of the most original examples of Turkish literature. The drama of overly Westernized, wannabe characters, similar examples of which will later be created in many novels, is most intensely fleshed out in the person of Bihruz Bey, the hero of Araba Sevdası, and becomes a classic. In this simplified edition, in addition to the pictures in the original of Araba Sevdası, texts, maps and pictures that clarify the sources and references of the novel are also included.
