Fairy Tales for My Mother consists of the stories of five feminist women writers, exploring every aspect of what it means to be a woman and a feminist.

The stories in the book are grouped under three sections in the context of feminist fiction's relationship with language, politics and aesthetics. The stories in the first part discuss working life, abortion, sexuality and discrimination through the filter of the authors' daily experiences. In the second part, sexuality, politics and group dynamics are discussed in direct connection with the women's liberation movement. In the third chapter, it is explained how the relationship between men and women, motherhood and social traditions become problematic in a society dominated by imposing attitudes and attitudes towards women.
