"On this side, while the Anatolian child is wasted, it is not our duty to think about others. We do not care if there is a flood, hell erupts from the ground, or stones rain down from the sky instead of rain, no matter who it is; no one other than Anatolian can occupy our minds. The anxiety we feel in front of any danger is only It is for Anatolia, because: It is us and we are it."
Anatolia, 1921

Anatolianism, which turned its back on both Turanism and the Ottoman Empire and saw only Anatolia as the essence of the nation and homeland, was a movement of thought that remained somewhat peripheral in the early Republican period. They could not hold a place in politics, but on the other hand, they had a considerable amount of work in the intellectual field and gained staff. This accumulation and staffing enabled them to form a strong group within the CHP in the last phase of the single-party period. The Anatolian team formed the backbone of the conservative wing within the CHP.

Metin Çınar's work deals with the world of thought of the leading figures of Anatolianism, Mükrimin Halil Yinanç, Remzi Oğuz Arık and Nurettin Topçu. The influence, attitude and ideas of Memduh Şevket Esendal, who ensured the influence of Anatolian cadres in the CHP, constitute an important part of the book. The differentiations within the movement are followed along with the thinkers in question, as well as the magazines that reveal the different colors of Anatolianism: Anadolu, Dikmen, Dönüm, Millet, Hareket, Çığır, Our Türkiye... Both the official nationalism during the construction period and the single-party CHP are as important as one might think. An interesting study showing that it is not homogeneous.
