Thomas Mann places the main motifs of Death in Venice, one of his early works, this time into the emotional world of an aging woman. Mann, who comes to terms with the complex dialectic of life and death in his works, virtually completes his own literary cycle with this last story he completed before his death. The book also contains very interesting dialogues in terms of reflecting the view of women of the period.
