In this book, the third of Edgar award-winning author Rebecca Pawel's historical detective series, Gardia Lieutenant Carlos Tejada and his pregnant wife Elena go to their new duty station, Potes. Since this is considered the land of guerrillas, they are not very welcome. Two days after the arrival of the Tejadas, news comes that a large amount of dynamite has been stolen.
