“Kurdistan and the Kurdish people remained within the borders of Iran and the Ottoman states for centuries. During this period, some of the Kurds revolted against these states many times on different occasions, but these uprisings were suppressed by the states in question. The nationalist struggles of the Kurds, like those of other nations, have different stages. One of these stages is the stage in which they express their demands to separate from the states under their sovereignty or to establish an independent state and struggle for this. Within the borders of the Ottoman Empire, these demands and struggles took a modern organized form towards the end of the First World War. In this study, we will focus on the thoughts of the Kurds who had the above-mentioned demands in the period before 1925 and their basis, as well as the important Kurdish organizations established in Istanbul and Northern Kurdistan.”
