1915 - My Armenian Neighbor Book Description

The book titled "My Armenian Neighbor in the 1915 (General / Private) Question (Genocide Allegation and Path to Peace)", written solely for the purpose of reconciliation / peace, was published in the first days of 2015, which is very important for the two peoples. Will this historical period, the 100th anniversary of 1915, pave the way for new hostilities or eternal peace?

Master journalist Yaşar Aksoy researched, thought and wrote for the path of reconciliation.
This work was written in 30 years, after completing an extensive archive study and document and book reading processes since 1984, the peak year of the martyrdom of Turkish diplomats by Armenian ASALA terrorists. At any time, information published around the world on the subject was compiled. In fact, information and documents have been accumulated for a study 100 times larger than this book. Our aim was to create a work that is easy to read.

19 general questions were prepared. These include the main topics. We took a deep journey into the history of Armenia and Turkish-Armenian relations, starting from the meaning of the word Armenian.
Then we asked ourselves 15 specific questions… These also cover complementary current issues…

Thus, the number 1915 was symbolically completed.
Inside us; The pain of the Armenian and Muslim Turkish families and individuals destroyed in 1915 is intense. The wounds of modern Turkey's diplomats martyred by Armenian terrorists are bleeding. The image of Hrant Dink's body lying on the street, riddled with treacherous racist bullets, never leaves our eyes...

We gifted our book to the martyr of peace, Hrant Dink. However, against these inhumane flames, the heartfelt compositions of our Ottoman Armenian composers extinguished the fire within us every time; It whispers the codes of neighbourhood, brotherhood, common citizenship and humanity. That's why I wrote the book to them; So we also dedicated it to our Armenian Composers…

Again, our book is also dedicated to Artin Penik…
Who is Artin Penik?
Artin Penik is a Turkish citizen of Armenian origin. He committed suicide by setting himself on fire in Taksim Square to protest Asala's actions. As a result of the attack carried out by Asla at Esenboğa Airport on 7 August 1982, 8 people died and 72 people were injured. After this attack, as a reaction to ASALA's actions, Artin Penik poured gasoline on himself and set himself on fire with the lighter in his hand in Taksim Square on 10 August 1982. Penik was hospitalized immediately after this incident. In an operation that lasted 2 hours, all skin was removed and washed in -1 degree water. But despite all the interventions, he died after 5 days in the hospital. Artin Penik said that he planned this attempt, from which he was rescued with severe burns, on his own as a reaction to Asala's actions.
