With the AKP rule for nearly twelve years, religious people moved to the center. Many people who believed in democracy hoped that this would result in "normalisation". However, the outbreak of the AKP-Community war and the illegalities that emerged with this war showed that the real problem is not with who is at the center of the system, but with the system itself. The Community-Government war clearly proved that Turkey's path cannot be paved by just changing the players without touching the game.

In the Erdogan-Gülen war, the parties insist that they are right and the others are wrong. Most of the criticisms and accusations they direct towards each other sound very convincing, while the arguments they develop to defend themselves sound equally unconvincing.
